As you may have noticed the site was unfortunately not accessable for a couple of days due to a server change.

It is however now back online and there should be no data loss.

Please feel free to give us your oppinion here on server speed or any other suggestions or comments you may have.

    Regards,

    Christian

      Back Online

It's great to see the site back up. I didn't realize how often I visited until it was down. Thanks for all the hard work.

        Geotech back online

Its great to have Geotech back up and running !!!!! ... I hope someday , to hear that they have a back-up system or a complete Cloned server , ready to fire up at any moments notice , on an alternate web-site address . Also , another Christmas wish is to have available "Geotech Archive CD'S" . Have a complete set of CD's "Years 1999-To 2008" available for Geotech members at a reasonable price . So far I saved maybe only 200 mega-bytes of Geotech , but it is only the "tip of the ice-berg" !!!!............Regards.........Eugene52

A couple of years ago an audio equipment technical forum that I frequent had a similar problem with their hosting service going down for extended periods. I realized, when it was down for about a week, that I used info from that site every few days for work. I suggested to the owner of the forum that he create and offer DVDs that could be browsed offline. He got a backup of the site and sent it to me to correct the links and create an index page for a DVD. It is offered through CafePress for $20.00. He thought it was a good idea but expected to only sell a few copies. Last time I checked it had sold over 2000. I take that DVD with me when I am on the road because it saves time when I need a schematic.

We update the image that CafePress has about every 3 months so it is never too far behind the live site.

Maybe Christian and Carl could do something similar.
