  • Can't download old links

When I click on old .pdf links, the url is updated with the new forum, but the file won't download. Is anyone else having the same dilemma? Sorry if this has already been posted elsewhere.

I think Carl said that some of the pdf files had become corrupted and would have to be regenerated. I have looked at several that seemed to be ok. I think the others are still being worked on.

The only ones that should not work are patents, they have not been uploaded yet. All other PDFs should work. Give me specific examples & I'll take a look.

I'd love to hook up once more before you leave NC. I know you're slammed, but I'd be willing to come your way. Best - Darren

Weird, I just clicked it again and it gave me the same message - file unavailable. So I right-clicked and clicked "Save Target As" and it downloaded with no problem. It won't download direct, but it'll do it the long way.

I just noticed an issue with the pdfs that I had not seen before. If I try to look at one in my browser, it returns an unknown mime type error. Downloading works fine.

Everything works just fine for me.
I can open and/or save the PDFs with both Windows/IE and Linux/Firefox.
Must be some problem at your end.

Yep, that must be it. Or, maybe, there is an issue with the pdf file type in the PHP code for attachments.

BTW: This is only an issue that I see with pdf files that are attachments to forum messages. I do not have any problem with pdf files from other areas of the site. Those display properly in all of the browsers I have tested.
