  • Tow-coil PI MD.

    G'day,

My favorite MD is my Aquapulse ( http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...g?t=1233179142 ) which I have found can be used with a number of different coils of very different sizes and I am presently using an Eric Foster 8" mono on it. I would however like to have a large coil to use with it that can go deep while ignoring the small stuff which the deminers call "clutter". I have used a 1 mt square coil on it and it works perfectly well. However a 1 meter square coil has proven to be too difficult to use when attempting to detect in areas of thick vegetation. What I would like to do with my Aquapulse is to convert it into a two-coil MD ... like this http://ankerlab.hop.ru/anker/pulse2/A-pulse2.jpg Russian MD.

Would I be able to change the wiring so two separate coils of the same size can then be used with it? If so, could the modification be done without any resoldering, or alteration to the circuit board? I would not be confident to do any reworking of the circuit board as I just don't have the electrical expertise, but I would be prepared to have a go at rearranging the two wires that presently go from the circuit board to the coil.

I use the Aquapulse MD for nugget hunting in thick scrub country

PS: The title of this thread should be two-coil PI MD, not tow-coil.

    Regards,
    Rob (RKC)

ok, Rob. Anker (nickname) has a chance to learn a russian military impulse detector 'IMB' (impulsnyj bomboiskatel). i think the fact is still not known for the geotechers. Anker has took some idea a base for the prototype. that's all info, to sorry. because there are still not people wishing to share info on IMB itself. a hope will dead in last...

IMB TX power stage schematic. done by Vel - I always follow the rule to note the authors. Vel (nickname) is living in Velikiie Luki city, Russia, huge Battle Fields of World War-II, BTW.

          Hi KT315
How are you friend? Thanking for your data aboutRussian military impulse detector 'IMB'.
I am one of the serious Person that trying to achieve more deep on PI type .
May be anker mixed TR and PI detector .
          Best regards.

...............And if it is TRPI, We need two coils was orthogonal. While not thus !!!!!

I doubt we need in orthogonal coils it has another principle than IB two-box. IMB is best for deep targets like bombs and huge explosives. but it is heavy and has oldie circuit

yet one photo of Anker-pulse, from RU web

BTW, Anker has two PI projects - Anker-pulse on IMB base and more fresh Anker-pulse2 with discrimination. both are commercial (schematics are not accessible).

Yes, I saw Anker website and know.
I am very interest to know what technology behind it.
May be this technology from Russia and Russian people had knowledge.
                Anybody know ?
                Best regards.

I cannot speak Russian. Maybe you will can request from Anker that
Say about it. Or about black diagram.
                  Speaking scientific, not commercial.

you know - I had banned on the forum my x-friends (in real the enemies are like to these cyborgs in Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles!!!), in our new one MD-FOR-ALL I do not see veltex being registered

Hi Rob, It is quite an easy mod to run two coils, but is does mean a mod to the circuit board. Basically it is to separate the TX from the RX input and then take the RX to a separate coil connector. Each coil has to have its own damping resistor. This type of system, depending on coil separation, has poor response to small targets but does reduce the effect of mineralised ground considerably. Two 15in coils would be do-able. The RX can have more turns and a higher inductance to enhance the received signal.
One problem is that there is no space on the Aquapulse for another connector.

                              Eric.
