G'day,
My favorite MD is my Aquapulse ( http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v5...g?t=1233179142 ) which I have found can be used with a number of different coils of very different sizes and I am presently using an Eric Foster 8" mono on it. I would however like to have a large coil to use with it that can go deep while ignoring the small stuff which the deminers call "clutter". I have used a 1 mt square coil on it and it works perfectly well. However a 1 meter square coil has proven to be too difficult to use when attempting to detect in areas of thick vegetation. What I would like to do with my Aquapulse is to convert it into a two-coil MD ... like this http://ankerlab.hop.ru/anker/pulse2/A-pulse2.jpg Russian MD.
Would I be able to change the wiring so two separate coils of the same size can then be used with it? If so, could the modification be done without any resoldering, or alteration to the circuit board? I would not be confident to do any reworking of the circuit board as I just don't have the electrical expertise, but I would be prepared to have a go at rearranging the two wires that presently go from the circuit board to the coil.
I use the Aquapulse MD for nugget hunting in thick scrub country

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/List...x?id=198911971 West Coast nuggety gold, with larger size nuggets occasionally being detected.
PS: The title of this thread should be two-coil PI MD, not tow-coil.
Regards,
Rob (RKC)
