  • PI Advice

Sorry to be a pain, as I know this question of which detector is better gets asked a lot,
But I am considering buying a c scope cs4pi and was wondering if any body has used one and whats your thouths on how well it would work on the wet sand,
It is cheap at £200 new, I would happily buy and other make or model if any one can recomend one or to.

    many thanks

    I own one.

Usable but quite unstable (changeable hard to tuneable broadband frequency but not changeable coil).

About its work on the wet (salt) sand I can not say nothing, mine past only some land test.

Very nice solution: optional belt (body) mounting of control box.

It is probably cheapest PI now, yes, at £200, but prety disappointing thing.

    My handmade PI works better.

thanks for your reply, but i got it a little late, as I went out and bought one.

bench tested it today, there are only two controls so it is not to hard to work out.

worked well on my wedding rind and coins.

was very dissapointed on how it performed on a soild gold braclet that I have.
The braclet is 3/4 round, in the shape of a letter C, so it can fit on my rist.
It is sold 9c gold and is 2.5 mm thick, it cost £300 uk money and the sc4PI had a hard time finding it unless it was close to the coil.

I spoke with scope and they said it was proberly due to the fact that it was not 100% round, (in a ring shape)

So in that case, I will mis gold chains etc etc when detecting on the beach.

The sc4PI will be going back, and I dont want to make the same mistake twice,

can any one point me a the direction of a good PI detector for the wet sand.

      many thanks

As you live in London, why don't you visit the Joan Allen detector showroom at Biggin Hill? They have a website at http://www.joanallen.co.uk/

But the advantage is that you can try before you buy.

                Very humorous explanation from Scope.

Mine passed my standard test with 0,33l beer tin buried at 55 cm in soil very well.
So for militaria can be usable. Coin test too: coin 27mm at 28cm in air test.

As you say, only two buttons, one for frequency tunning, but hard to tunable on stable frequency on soil in field of max sensitivity.

                I expected more from Scope.
