Hi guys,

Here is a brief example how some of Bulgarins had been stolen the projects CLONE-PI and another Russian project known as Groza-4 GT from Ciklon (Cyclone).

PI project CLONE-PI had been realized by Фёдоров Андрей known at this forum as ANDY_F.

This is a newest version of software coded by Andy 05.01.2009.
(on balance 9 working versions coded in C and ASM).

For scuba-divers and underwater prospecting there is ClonePI-W with 2 versions of software.

The projects of Andy_F are freeware and not for sale. His projects are for poor people who haven`t money to buy on tick commercial unit.

The Ciklons projects are commercial but they are really cheap and truly low-cost devices.

Some dull gays, the right word is thiefs from Bulgaria or if you gonna say Vulgaria have been stolen their artwork and sell it like new revolutionary Vulgarian VLF/PI metal detecting box known as "GRIZZLY TWINS" for symbolical price of 1292 bucks.

What can I say so more about this arch-hypocrites ?.

nothing new in this world... your Clone-PI is really only a clone...
the clone of KOSCHEJ-5IM. KOSCHEJ-5I and KOSCHEJ-5IM have been released by Jurij Kolokolov and Andrej Schedrin (KO-SCHE-J) long time before you noted Clone-PI site.

Original author must be dumb for real!? Atmel is easy to protect. Why original author never protected code in Atmel? That way this discussion would never occur. Best way to protect your intelectual design is to use just Atmel or PIC. Especially Atmels. Code protection there is perfect. So, original author must be very dumb or naive. Now; anybody can claim is original author.

I like these boards and coil very much.... I'm not looking for a new PI at now but I consider clone-PI really interesting project.

I don't like people that stole ideas and plans... but the problem, as already stated, was not at schematic but at code protection.

Dang... after all that work I would rather protect the code too! Cause it's the only way to protect , in cases like this, the intellectual property of author...

Just the simple fact that code was unprotected means anyone could say , after retrieving it, he was the author and claim for original idea!

Of course, PI design/schematics are not new stuff in most of the cases... reused ideas and old schematics parts... redesigned old style etc... but what's different is that this one have code and MCU and what's inside could make a big difference not only at performance but also at geb and discrimination strategy... not that are perfect in any way... but could be really big differences from plain old stuff... without MCU.

Now , what to say, some people wanna make money... and find ways to make it easy using other people ideas (and genius sometimes)... happened too many times in history... that's a lesson for any inventor/developer who wanna make something new... or have revolutionary idea.

In community development (think at linux OS) people share code... but there's always reference to the author of it... at least. It's a strategy that's good if you don't care of commercial/economic aspects... but it's also possible cause of the philosophy around this kind of open source development.

I suggest people spending lot of their time and efforts developing new stuff and that want to be respected and (why not ?) paid for new ideas...don't stay with the "open source" or "open code" way of doing... doesn't pay for that matters... keep the merits for you in that case... and if you want, let others make your design BUT they must respect you're the author of the interesting part, and pay for the pre-programmed and locked MCU.

Sometimes... from builder point of view...it's sad you have to buy a pre-programmed e.g. Atmel or PIC to make a new project work... and don't see the code...but it's the price you have to pay for many hours and efforts the author spent for doing such code refining. This needs respect... and people should be glad to pay for something really good made and original.

bad idea. we see multi-sample OPEN projects on Geotech. what you consider to repeat? Delta Pulse is absoliutely great analog working schematic without these LCD, ATMEL chip, analog-to-digital converter smart tricks. EXPENSIVE price you would to pay for very middle sensitivity comparable to VLF detectors. for a base I had to say the author took schematic of KOSCHEJ. KOSCHEJ is strictly commercial product. they sell KOSCHEJ kits at all xUSSR territory*. the schematic is done on three (THREE!) IC's only. yupy, it is super simple and super good for commercial release. NOT FOR US this idea is. all this principle is only Delta Pulse principle. NOTHING NEW. do DP, will get MORE deeppy one and will be more happy with. in the case we say 'a robber crooked black jack from a robber' (vor u vora dubinku ukral)

you know... my interest is just academic... I own already these (cloned) PIs:

XR-71
DeltaPulse
GoldScanIV

and some others... like Stuart's, some custom designed one... and bought stuff.

So I have enough PIs for any kind of search I think... but cause I'm mostly focused on homemade VLFs the PI interest is, as explained, just intellectual at now. Some of these I own are hanged from long time at walls of my garage or pcbs only now!
