  • How does a PI Detector work?

    Hi,
is there someone out there which can me give some invormations how a pi metal detector does work, maybe to understand and later to build an own. I'm happy if there is someone how can say me which book to read or other files. If the document is with pictures, its perfect.
    thanks

    Hi Ulix,
The WEBcontains a vast amount of information for your needs. I can't show you what to read and how to design PI detectors without
"inVormations" what is your level of
knowledge in the field of electricity and electronics, do you like math and
explanations with formulas, can you do SPICE simulation of circuits. Send me an email
if you preferred not to give information about themselves to all in this forum.
    Yours Mike

At first i'm searching informations to explain my metal detector for school in a presentation. I'm searching easy and middle hard informations, no medium informations, because this i can't understand.

I know this information of "How Metal Detectors Work" but it's too simple, I hoped that anyone can give me some scripts with pictures....

You can understand middle hard informations, but can't understand medium informations?

So medium informations are harder than middle hard informations?

          I can't understand your approach.

                    PI school

I started the same learning curvea few months ago. If you go over to the projects page of this website, you'll find a bunch of stuff. In particular look for Carl Moreland's article on the Hammerhead I detector, bbsailors article on fast coil design, and Reg Sniff's article on PI theory. These guys cut years off of my learning curve...

And now I'm up to my eyeballs building a Hammerhead. Sure beats buying something from a store with no idea how it works!

                      errata...

My mistake, Reg Siff's article on PI theory is on www.nuggetshooter.com,
                      or just google reg sniff.

I've been doing too much reading the last few weeks, it's starting to blur a little...
