  • Phase shift or amplitude?

a IB VLF detector uses phase shift to discriminate, but what about "all metal" mode?
uses amplitude or phase of the receiving signal?

directly replying... yes. AND the amplitude AND the phase are being use. as in Disc Mode so in All Metal-PinPointing Mode too.

      Thanks kt315...
Btw,why we lose some depth in Disc mode relative to all metal mode?

interesting, main and central issue Bill512! it was been researched by Ivan Kostin... in Disc Mode faint signal of non-ferrous gives us only some PHASE SHIFT at begining, not an increase in AMPLITUDE. although the amplitude is also increasing but in too small degree in real as compared with ferrous metal. ferrous metal gives more powerful increase as in amplitude as in phase shift!
