Hi,
Although stated as a variable frequency detector via a 3 position switch at the rear of the control box, the 4ZX only changes its frequency by a small amount. Intended to cancel out interference caused by other metal detectors working on the same frequency such as the CS2M or CS2MX and being in close proximity. The 'normal' position is the 'central' or number '2' position.
I believe the operating frequency is 12 KHZ, the same as the CS2 and CS2MX as opposed to the 17 KHZ units like the CS1220XD etc.
