      • inductor color code is same like for resistors. their size like 0.125W resistors or 0.075W - both fit the pcb.
you have to seek them in range 22uH - 81uH. check them by chinese TRANSISTOR TESTER.

        https://www.instructables.com/Induct...or-Code-Guide/

This will be a simple guide to reading inductor color codes

The color codes for inductors are identical to that of a resistor so if you are familiar with resistors this should be very easy

the tricky part is remembering the results from this will be in microHenrys, not just Henrys

First break down the bands. The last band is the tolerance, and the band right before that is the multiplier. The other bands are the numbers

so the easiest way will be to show an example. Say we have the colors BROWN, ORANGE, BROWN, BLACK

They would mean the inductor has a value of:

        BROWN - ORANGE - BROWN - BLACK
        1 3 X10 +/-20%

        So we have 13 x 10 +/-20%,
meaning out inductance is 130 micro Henrys with a 20 percent tolerance, or in other words, our actual inductance can be anywhere between 104 and 156 micro Henrys.

Pretty straight forward, you can find some online interactive tutorials for practice, but you should pick it up pretty quickly

        • Good morning friend, I just bought a King Cobra PCB, can you send me the schematic and the list of components to my email please, do you have a silkscreen print on the card?

if you are in GEOTECH1 you perhaps had see i give this link on the Archive https://drive.google.com/file/d/1pNU...usp=drive_link
you can leave just Tesoro and GMT folders and delete left.

What coil could be good for it? I have seen that it goes at 15khz, is there a coil? from another machine that can be adapted,? (Goldenmask, Pirate, Idx, Musky, Tesoro)??

TGSL coil in GEOTECH1. all Tesoro coils '6 and 6.5mH'. you have to find the PDF files. I bought King Cobra not with original coil, it was with Hot Head coil. it is simplest inside. you will see the pics of it.

What are the measurements for the Rx-Tx coil that best fits? Thank you very much, I follow you on Geotech. And lastly, how deep What should I expect from this machine? Many questions, sorry for the inconvenience.

I sold original board, soldered board in original housing and fully first batch of boards. i had nothing of GMT beside the Hot Head coil. so i ordered new batch, on requests. deep like all Tesoro... this is really TESORO ROYAL SABRE circuit too. all in your hands...

            ============================ SMD PARTS =============================
            7343H C43 22-47uF x 20-25V 7343H
This capacitor is made of tantalum? and can range from 22 to 47uF?. (What I understand) How does this variation affect the work of the detector?

yup, they are tantalum. 7343 is SMD size type, like you see there 1206, 0805, 0603, etc. So you can set size less, but not more.
you can set a voltage of tantalums more, but not less. also you can not set them and ignore. that is just my some kinda mod because i take them from trash electronics boards.

I assume you have built the detector.

like i had wrote i sold all soldered boards i had. i have to solder again the pcb from zero.

Could you tell me which equivalent components you chose? There are some that are discontinued and others that I suppose would be better than the old ones.

certainly choice modern op amps you can find around. main rule all chips have to be not fake and have to work. sometimes chineses are selling fakes, that's bad...

            pleasure

                • I am not KT315, but your message showed up in my messages area, I am MELBETA and I am not sure if I have PCB for what ever you want to build, my email address, I prefer to use it, I use AOL, and it is harder for me to get online as I live inside an tall Ponderosa Tree Forest where I live. So email me and ask your question if it was also meant for MELBETA. I am.............

                  • This project has come a long way since my initial post almost 15 years ago. Great work guys!

                    • thank you Merc!

                      ok. a question now.

Does this come with any electronic parts and switches? Or just a bare board?

                      Hello Amigo

All my projects are based on 'electronics garbage'. So orientating on/for poor people. For kits i must buy new components, because Lietuva does nothing. for example, from aliexpress. but you can buy yourself.
you can seek old 'electronics garbage' PCBs in special trash boxes in any shop. those TV sets boards, recorders, monitors, etc. Good if you see American made PCBs with American op opams.

                      pleasure

                      • Buenas noches amigo l placa viene ensamblada o hay que ensamblarlo

                        hello amigos

                        Bare naked board.

for KIT, you mean, i have to buy new components somewhere. Lithuania is so tiny country you will not seek it at the global map never. does make nothing now. but in USSR did all. so you can buy the details in China like i buy too there.

all my projects are oriented on very poor people and second using of old electronics boards you can take/seek from garbage boxes at streets and in shops entrance . we call that way 'TRASH TECHNOLOGY'.

                        Pleasure

                        • Thanks for sharing the PCB pics of your King Cobra! These will definitely be useful for anyone working on similar projects. It's great that the schematic is already posted as well—having both the visuals and the schematic together can really help others understand the layout and connections. Appreciate you contributing to the community!
