Does anyone have any experience with the GTI-2500 (Garret Detector), IF so, could you tell me what the max depth is with the largest search coil and is there any better detectors out there for around the same price??

I don't like to comment on particular models because I work for a competitor, but no one else has responded...
The 2500 with the large coil goes pretty deep, esp. in all metal mode. Max depth? Depends on the target. However, it is an incredibly heavy detector that put a severe hurting on my shoulder.

I had 2 GTI 2500's so far.
As Qiaozhi noticed; extra high build quality! GTI2500's are made to last forever!!! (machine itself - not coils). Coil cables i don't like! To many wires and what is worse; there are 3 separate coaxials + 2 single wires, and all that in pretty inflexible coat which cracks in time. I saw many cases like that.
Machine itself is eternal! I like it much!
It is very deep, especially in All Metal mode, although it is also deep in Disc too on selected items. (In Disc modes GTI don't like fast swings at all).
What i don't like are disc defaults preseted there. Must be much differences between USA and Serbian soils, cose when i run machine in any Disc mode except "Zero" i can not locate nothing from usuall coins we have here!?
"Zero" disc is acceptable, yet again pretty "discriminative" on most of the targets that can usually be founded here.
That would be only remark from me to GTI2500.
To overcome that problem, i usually do search in All Metal mode and once item detected i do switch in "Zero" mode and than check it slowly and detailed. It takes more time to distinguish the type of target than with other machines, but since it is very deep i don't complain much!
It is a bit heavy. In time you can get used on that. Weigth also depends of a coil used with machine. With some smaller coils GTI is not that heavy.
On scale 0 to 10 i would give GTI2500 good 8!
Regards!
