TESORO STINGRAY

I have a tesoro stingray which I am trying to repair, the problem is it does not have its coil, can anyone tell me if it uses a 4 or 5 wire coil and which wires connect to the pcb and where on the pcb, i have 5 possible connection points on the pcb,I have found a diagram with wiring colours grey/violet rx coil screen/ orange tx coils for a 5 pin connector any help would be great ,also can I purchase tesoro parts in uk , last I know I,m a pain but I have a laser hawkeye could I use this coil by fitting a 5 pin plug to the stingray just to try the stingray to see if it works I will not be using underwater as originally designed, thanks again

The Tesoro Stingray is a discontinued detector, but I believe that Tiger Shark coils are the same and will fit both detectors.

As far as I can see, the Hawkeye coil should work with the Stingray (which is a 12KHz VLF). I suspect the Stingray and Tiger Shark coils are essentially the same as the standard Tesoro coils, but are designed to operate in 200 feet of water.

It's worth a try anyway.
