  • I have no idea what is price for gebraucht (used, second hand) Jeohunter, but I got info that italian metal detector shop:
    http://www.mediaelettra.com/
sells standard model Jeohunter with one coil for only 2000 to 2500 Euro! This is very good deal!

Because new Jeohunter Complete Package is inclusive 3 coils for around 3900 Euro with very deep search 60x100cm coil. But I got info that my standard model also works with this very large coil.

btw. in USA since a few months well known online shop http://www.metaldetector.com/ also sells Jeohunter 3D Complete Package for 5500 Dollars.

If you don't believe me, ask them about how good it works...

    • Jeohunter 3D

my dog bit me the cable, pick me, I can tie it but I worry that those yellow plastic wires do not know if they are to strengthen the cable inside or if they are sensors ... someone could help me?, which would you recommend?

      please see the 2 Pictures!!!

        • Wow fantastic - this is the chance for you making some experiments with other coils... - just joking - could be too dangerous if you don't know exactly the purpose and what way or how the wires are connected.

Are you shure it was a dog? 'Cause usually that area of the cable is inside the holder-bar.

Well, repairing this is pretty simple:

          - unisolate yellow, grey and white cables 2-3mm and solder them together.

          - isolate them with thin scotch tape a few turns and bundle them, cover this bundle with tape and now solder together the shielding. This is very important - and next use some short piece of alu-foil for even better shielding-contact and stability.

          - finally cover the repaired area with strong and flexible gaffer etc. tape so it is water-proof.

Do all this work while Jeohunter is switched off and coil cable is not connected to main unit.

If you need some experience first cut an USB-cable apart and fix it again.

If the soldered broken cables are alot shorter than the intact ones (especially if the shielding wires are too short), you also can do the following:

first mark all cables (with color or stickers etc), cut them to the same lenght (slightly shorter as the shielding) and solder everything as it was described.

Don't use too much soldering-tin at the little wire connections because this could negativly influence the final performance.

Here you also could get a new standard coil for 600 us$ but I don't know if it also comes with the cable:
          http://www.metaldetector.cc/index.as...OD&ProdID=1190

If you like to do me a favour you also can measure what coil-connector plugs/pins correspond to what wire.

Tell and show me with pix how the repair works and just ask if you need more help. Good luck!

            • Thanx for the info.

How large is this wooden plate that seems to be directly at the coil cable connector? OK, this looks not so good, but as long as it works...

And I could clearly detect alu-case 35x45cm @ 2m distance with standard coil and also big high-voltage electricity pylon up to 5m.

btw. searching directly under train, higher voltage or lower high voltage lines is as wouldn't these exist at all for the Jeohunter!

                • How boring! Here I show you a much cooler alternative with wings,
that's what I meet while treasure hunting with Jeohunter:

                  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lipoptena_cervi

btw. kt315 - do you have a real good alternative for the Jeohunter or just a big mouth like WM6?

We are talking about a detector that has search depth beyond 2m, discrimination and can find also little objects! Good Luck!

                      • Very nice retro-computer, kt315, but please bring it back now to Dr. Frankensteins lab!

If that is your alternative to the Jeohunter, I don't wanna know how your other technical equipment, your car, cell-phone etc. will look like...

                          http://www.multiupload.com/3IFPJANDNT

This only works for the experienced ones and with coils larger than 40cm. It is perfect for high sensitive detectors because the coil always remains at the same relative place! No more wasting of energy with sweep, change direction, sweep, change direction an so on. Heavy coils became very lightweight and it is for shure possible searching a complete football field withing a few hours. Don't move too fast forward because the search radius has to overlap a bit. And use a circulating speed that you and the MD can handle.

The find is authentic and wasn't located before, round metal piece 2cm diameter and 6cm lenght, depth 10cm.

                          • Welcome to the real world, pigheaded Jeohunter-haters and ignorant Jeohunter sceptics!

Below the finds of today - approx. 7h of search, in the middle of a lonesome wood with small meadows and all the time little hills.

That's why I searched only around 2/3 with the whirlwind method @ 90% sensitivity, iron on, ground balance minus 150 to minus 50.

The first time that I found two horseshoes within one day and it brought me really luck - stumbled over a 12 pound heavy / 12cm diameter 200 yo cannonball that was only 5cm below the grass!

But I also got very little stuff! Muscet-ball (15mm diameter), 2 coins (23mm) and even very little part of pulltab (12mm).

Size of searched area: 80x300m, very wet and loamy soil.

                            • Draw a nice graphic to illustrate the whirlwind searchmethod!

In the beginning it needs a bit concentration and body coordination but after a short while it is pretty simple and only one counterturn is needed to eliminate any vertigo.

But it really pays off: Until 60 Squaremeters per Minute or 3600 sqm in one hour with a 45cm coil.

And a second important info: The Jeohunter accu-pack (as most if not all accus) discharges itself after a while. A 3 weeks ago fully charged accu has only power for 3h left while a fresh charged one has the double amount.

So the best is always having 2 accupacks with you and the second one is freshly charged.
