Hi geo-i!
If the Accupack only lasts 3h there is something wrong! Perhaps these Ultrafires are cheap China cells with wrong mA declaration (I have never seen so many lies and wrong values as with accu-cells, most of them are much worse than the mA etc. describtion suggests). Or only a few cells are bad (you can test this if the pack is already half-used or weak). Or the charger has a problem.
Your cells usually must work for 9h because those are 2x 3000mA and the Jeohunter works 6hs with the 4000mA original accu-packs.
However, for the beginning your accu-pack is a good success and 3h may be OK until you get better cells or a better charger.
Why detectors show us gold if it's a different kind of metal??
That's a well know and often asked question and it applies to any metal detector!
In short because gold has almost the same electromagnetical and conductive attributes than many alloys or other kind of metal. Tin-foil or copper as example and even special shaped stainless-steel.
It also has to do with the size, because a thick piece of metal conducts better than a thin piece. And even mineralized soil can have an influence.
Because of the bunker:
Is the 20feet x 7feet cavity signal really a geometrical square or other shape? And do you get it still at 80% senstivity "loud and clear"? You have to be really shure of this because outherwise you may face the same beginner problems like I told to syed ayub basha.
Is the ground where you have detected the cavity made out of concrete? Perhaps you have already found the ceiling (roof) of the bunker? Maybe you will find the entrance inside of the abandoned house or somewhere nearby?
If you found the bunkers concrete it would be very massive.
And if this was a military bunker be careful about old ammunition, mines and other dangerous stuff around!
However, you're on the right track for treasure hunting and congratulation to your already first huge find! Thanks for the picture - seem you found it in very high mineralized ground. It's like with in some Role Playing Games - first you have to built up alot experience-points and then you get to the big treasure-chest. But with the Jeohunter you are really starting from the best position! Good luck, geo-i, and I hope you will find a way for a second and better accu-pack!
