celular,
Haven't asked yet but I put already the standard search coil 10cm deep under water while searchin' in a little lead-mines "river"! And so far I had absolutly no problem with this.
There also isn't any warning written on the coils label that you should not put it into water.Attached Files

@ celular
I also had never problems yet.
Thanx for the correct translation, Quiaozhi.
In fact dewy, wet or even under water is the same and:
"Water has a very little head."
So it depends how much water penetrates or drys up.
I've got now the exact info:
________________________________________________
It's risky and please not hold it under the water, but search
over the water-surface is good, making ground balance first.
________________________________________________
It's "Better safety first", depending alot how good the isolation is and if there could be something affected by penetrating water. Some coils use capacitors inside of them and other electronical parts or contacts could corrode by humidity.
It's often or always the same problem:
"Sh*t happens" vs "No risk, no fun."

thx for your feedback, celular.
btw. you could search under water without risk if you put the coil in some large and real waterproofed plastic bag first (such for trash should work real good).
For going real shure put one such large bag into some second one, tighten it with some tape and be careful that there is nothing sharp on the ground and no piranhas in the water.

It depends where you're living - look here:

> I turn off the lcd got a red screen and off
How do you got the red screen exactly?
Yesterday I've been searching, it started to rain and I had no problems at all with the coil, and the coil got really wet.
Found 2cm small case shot and 3cm grapeshot iron balls until 15cm-20cm deep in the wood but with 10cm high grass there @ 80% sensitivity! And a few days earlier I got 2000 yo roman axe!
All these finds are another proof how versatile the Jeohunter is, because you can cover a really huge area and still find little things!
You can search even faster with the whirl-wind method over flat sites - see below - while the weight of the coil is gone completly!
Cheeky persons like WM6 should get'n some large potatoe in their mouth or put their hands under an asphalt roller so they never ever can spread their filthy lies and outrageous diskreditionsover the internet, but such crazy types have nothing else to do in their poor life, thats the big problem...

All this ugly words because of crappy and unusable Jeohunter box?
Unbelivable what can a lousy detector made from human been.

If one want to buy heavy and expensive bells and whistles nintendo machine, I have nothing against, I only give here second opinion to potentially naive buyers.
To get conclusion of rubbish, you do not need to read my posts, but Funfinder negative reviews on Jeohunter in this topic.

@ Micheal
forget about WM6, he has big psychic problems - everytime if there is somewhere a MD posting he has to comment this with a few fanatic words. I guess some computer virus found a way in his mind. these addicted cyberfreaks live in their own world - far away from reality. WM6 even fantasizes already of his sane alter ego called: "Dr. Best"!But that only represents his subconcious wish for mental health.

Important Jeohunter Ground Balance Info:
Correct Ground Balance really is important for getting the best depth and correct search results. It is not the fault of the Jeohunter if you get "wrong signals" or dig empty holes.
I found out the following:
In air test you get the best detection distance with GB (Ground Balance) set to 200. But with real groundsearch you get the best depth with -200, especially little iron objects in earthy or muddy soil! This seems because the objects "mineralises" the surounding ground.
But!
If you put the GB to -200, hot rocks, mineralic stones and even bricks will get recognised as "metal".
The "not detection value" of bricks / hot bricks is around -90.
And that same value for mineralic stones is around -150.
So what is the best to do?
For detecting metal objects make a test directly at the search location. Find some buried thing, don't dig it directly but first check out what ground balance level gives you the most sensitivity and largest signal area.
(try steps -200, -100, 0, 100, 200)
If ground balance is set correctly, you even can detect some cavity halo around rusty iron objects! Shure, it is not "real cavity", but with this method you can skip digging rusty objects.
btw. the difference is huge!
I found a vertical rusty tent plug 20cm below with Sensitivity 80% and Ground Balance set to -200 at a 25cm large signal circle and until 15cm over the ground while I got there no signal at all with GB set to plus 150.
For standard use you can keep the Ground Balance around the zero value, but for best detection make some tests directly at the location.
If I have the time and good possibility I also will make some pure cavity detection tests.Attached Files
