    On another forum there is talk of the T2 being cloned. I can see that it would be possilble to make the parts and PCB, but how would they get the code from the micro. Would it have to be an inside job.

    No - it's not impossible to pull the firmware out of CPU. The Chinese are experts at this. They could have also written new code to control the analog electronics.

      I talked to a Fisher rep at the Vegas Gold Show... the rip-off T2's look almost identical to the real deal, except for the loop. The software, though, is nowhere close to the real thing. This was probably the result of the sudden demand for T2's in Sudan.

      Speaking of Chinese rip-offs, I heard that an American dealer bought 10 GPX4500's for $5000 each. When she went to sell them for $6500 each, she was told that they were the Chinese rip-offs, worth nothing.
