  • White's 4000/D Series 3 - NO Target Response From Coil

I have a White's Coin Master 4000/D Series 3, blue box with the meter in the end of the handle.... no matter what coil a put on it... i can't get any Target Response ... the rest of the machine appears to be working OK ... it's like the coil is switched off....
IS this a common problem???? IS there a simple fix???? Any help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.... Anthony

Lick your fingertip and stick in the coil connector on the box... this will normally give a random audio response. If you get no response, then open the case and check the connector wiring.

      howdy carl....
did as you instructed sir..... no response from the detector ... i've poped the case open and inspected conections... the wires from the socket... red, black, grey, green, white, run aprox. 4 inches to a black rectanglar plug.... and onto the mother board....
i took a good look at the solder joints.... they appear to be solid.... i havn't pulled the board off the cover yet.... the unit is in clean, well kept shape... so i'm hoping there is somthing simple wrong with it....
what should i look at next ??

this has to be a common problem.... how many things on a board could stop the coil talking to the processor????
i'm not affraid to take it apart... i'm just not sure which part i should be looking at to replace...

Don't know, could be as simple as a bad cap. Call Todd in White's customer service.
