I am not going to post this, but if anyone wants a copy of an article that Charles Garrett wrote back in 1977, when he brought out his first Master Hunter VLF/TR discriminatior for 5.5Khz, and his first Groundhog VLF/TR discriminator 15.5Khz detectors, I will email it to you. I have no idea if the article is copyrighted, so will not post it for that reason.
It explains the advantages and disadvantages of various frequencies, why he picked what he picked, how the VLF works compared to how the TR works, the differences between the VLF and the TR, how the various speeds of return signals works, and so on.
Very informative to a researcher who wants to know things. I received this from Ray Smith of National Treasure Hunters League back in 1977, I was one of his dealers, and later was a dealer for Garrett for many years.
These early VLF/TR machines used 4 pin coils, later they changed just the Master Hunter seriest to 5 pin. And then various modifications and changes to later models. This even has copies of the sales brochures on the first new models specified above.
