Hi, I purchased cheaply a miltary mine dector that I, as a novice, wanted to use for metal and monmetal treasure hunting. It is AN PRS-8. I have read about the AN PRS-7 but it seems not like that one. Only ON and OFF and I am not sure of the single battery case (4X "C") voltage that has been added afterwards. I don't know how itis supposed to function. Any help would be appreciated. TNX Jay

Found battery (I think)

Hi, again. I found with a little more looking that the two batteries (2 X "C" size for each)Is a Lithium Thionyl Chloride Battery Type ER251020S at 3.6 volts each. Evidently a high energy density type. I can't believe that 1.63 volts X 4 (6.527 volts) would make it not function instead of the 7.2 volts. I will try a Powersupply set at 7.2 to see if it functions.
Any suggestions or thoughts?
