Garret Freedom 2 help needed.

Hi all.
I have here,an Garret Freedom 2 that needs sorting.
I've just got a 12" coil for it. When turned on with the coil connected.disc 1 and 2,the thresold is a little crackly and it wont detect a large coin until it's nearly touching the coil. But it's not much better in all metal. But with a large item of say 2" x 3",it gives a lot stronger signal in all metal. But not so clever in disc modes. It cant seem to see the smaller items very good.
All controls seem to work ok.

Here is the following coil wire colours etc

COIL------------------- MACHINE
--------------------------------------------------------
Pin 1 = Earth---------- Pin 1 = Green
Pin 2 = Black---------- Pin 2 = Yellow
Pin 3 = Red------------ Pin 3 = Blue
Pin 4 = White--------- Pin 4 = Pink
Pin 5 = Green --------- Pin 5 = Empty


The coil is the Garrett Crossfire 12" for the GTA/CX etc.
Not the Crossfire 2 for the GTAX etc

I would have thought this coil is correct for the Freedom 2 ?

It detects large items at good depth at distance in all metal,but struggles in disc.
Plus i have read somewhere that the ACE coils will work on these machines. Have anyone else heard this please.
