  • Garrett Deepseeker Marksman ques..

I am a newbe to this forum but not detecting, I have an older Deepseeker Marksman P.B. VLF/TR 4 pin plug with a 7.5" co-planer coil. Does anyone have any experience with this MD and what other coils would work with this unit? I currently use Garrett's GTAX1250 and GTA500 often but never really understood this unit so any help would be appreciated! Many thanks to everyone and happy detecting!! Ray

Master Hunter VLF/TR (controls on side, push button, deepseeker on coil)

Does it have ADS on it? Does it say DeepSeeker?

Being 4 pin it could be before they changed from 15Khz to 5Khz.

I'm thinking it may be this one.

Thanks for the reply...only co-planer on coil, controls on side, meter and speaker on top, does not have ADS anywhere on it but does have Marksman sticker on front near plug, has push button on handle. I tune it just like the ADS model says to do and it seems to work fine, I have never found any info on this MD, will try to post some pics of it this weekend. Thanks..Ray

        Hi Ray,
If you wish to upgrade this model, there is information in sector "Modifications":

          add some pics...

Hey guys I've added some pics of this Garrett Marksman PB, if any one has ever used or owned one, any info would help. It has the 4 pin plug so would any old garrett deepseeker 4 pin coil work? How good is this MD? What depth should I get? Thanks Ray

I have a coil for you, it will work better than the Garrett coil as the Garrett techs found out that gives better depth and performance over the 10.5" Garrett coil as well as being lighter in weight. It was made for the D-Tex SK line of metal detectors that were based on the Master Hunter Deepseeker circuitry.

It's arare coil to find, I paid $65.00 for it so that's what I want, plus shipping.
If you buy it it I will throw in a Garrett 4" Sniper Coil for your detector.

            Both coils are 4 pin.
