Minelab Explorer manual ground balance mod

The Explorers/Etrac have fixed ground balance, not auto as many might think. There is a guy here in Bulgaria who does a mod where he adds a potentimeter so that you can adjust the ground balance manually (manual ground balance). As a result the machine gets much better depths, especially in low mineralized ground. I want to try this mod myself. Does anyone have the schematics?

Fine idea!
I will wait for some answers with you,but I am a little sceptically.Only old and cheap detectors are modificated on this forum.It is true,that metal detector are not so commercial as another electronics.No service manuals,no complete schematics,no real mods from top line units.EX,XLT etc.

I got answer from one minelab servisman about this information,and he wrote me:

"The Explorer Ground Balance is achieved through subtraction of signals of different frequencies, so manual tuning is not possible. Surely something else can be adjusted (eg, gain some degree of amplifier?)"

So more information is needed for this interesting mod.

A few years ago I heard about some ukrainians which hacked firmware.After this EX goes deeper and had some changes in menu.But no more info.
