  • GREAT DOUBT

good day. This great doubt? as is possible, jeohunter, detect, as deep as a PI metal detector, and deeper than any VLF, existing, and this works in the frequency jeohunter: 12.5 kilohertz! this frequency is not considered vlf? my (pi) works on two frequencies: 600 Hz and 1200 Hz, and is considered, the high frequency? 12.5 kilohertz, ARE MORE, THAT: 1200Hz ? What is the explanation?

Hi.VLF and PI machines work using very different techniques. VLF types typically operate with a continuous sine wave transmission/reception, and this frequency can be optimised to tune to certain size targets. For example 30kHz may suit tiny gold nuggets, 5kHz would favour common sized coins.
PI machines transmit a single very short pulse and examine the 'echo' from the target. They do this repeatedly, typically 1000 times per second, such as your machine does. However they could easily work at 1Hz, though you would have to sweep you coil VERY slowly. Each pulse is a complete sample of the target. The repetition rate is high so that a comfortable coil swing rate allows multiple samples to be taken for a target.
    Hope this helps.</p>
