  • SEF COIL REPAIR ?

    Hello

I bought a 2nd hand 8x10 SEF coil for my sovereign xs2a Pro after using and experiancing eratic behaviour I tested the coil and I am getting a resistance reading between pin 5 and 6.Apparently this shoudnt be .
The connection into the coil is stripped and not secure and I wonder if water has got in and caused this short circuit,
    Can a repair be made.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Regards
    Ken

Ken... supershaw... please do not open the coil by hammer and arm-saw how many people did that before you. you will get nothing information from coil if will crack it out... there is special epoxy resin dissolver. I believe it was Made in USA... and as all Made in USA is high quality product.

      Ken,

If I understand you, the cable going into the coil housing (through the strain relief) is loose? Inside the housing, everything is embedded in poured epoxy so if the cable is allowed to move through the strain relief, it doesn't take long for something to break. It's also possible the cable is twisted. Because the loop is poured with epoxy, it is not repairable.
