  • LORENZ DEEPMAX X5 AND X6

    Hello.
Has anyone used the Lorenz X5 or X6 lately? The dealers claim that they can detect small items (coins) at great depths, up to 40 feet!!! Even half of that would be great!
I'm interested on buying one if I can get some info from someone who used one of them.
    Thanks.

    40 feet for coin?

    Only in sweet dreams.

It is not 40 feet, it is not even 40 inch, it is unbelievable 4.0 inch.

        Hallo Olympios.
I owe the Lorenz Deepmax X5 and it is a beautifull machine to use.It can discriminate at about half of its achievable depth.Audio discrimination is about twice as sensitive compared to the readings on the digital display.
It can find a 2euro coin at 25cm's easily. You have to know how to adjust it properly and this is it.Check out the LORENZ site and you will find their manuals which include tables whith specs about depths related to finds dimensions.Their 35DD coil which I ussualy use is enough(to my opinion) for somebody which is treasurehunting.
Apart from all that it is a very robust contruction and as far as I know nobody ever complained for faulty electronics or any unreliable parts.
Mercedes class quality worth every penny you pay!

          Hello Forum,
"Apart from all that it is a very robust contruction and as far as I know nobody ever complained for faulty electronics or any unreliable parts."
I did not say that quickly... I COMPLAIN !!!! this because one month ago, i have to repair a Lorenz X5 for a friend ...here in Mexico , it was deseperate !!!
Firts i open the Lorenz , clean and robust Deush construction electronic!!!! BUTTTTTTTT the main board is covered in resin , not possible to repair ...if you are far from Germany!!!! you must send the equipment to Germany .... pay tax again, lost time.... many mails etc.... pays again repair....

Second , the luck i have because the small alimentation board has no resin and i can check the different voltage from the regulador and no voltage ...i pass the day searching and discover a very small resistor 1/8 linked , i change it and the Lorenz work again...

What i want to say and advise ... because it is very illogical board design ... in the regulator board ... you have a lot of space and the manufacture put small and fragile 1/8 resistor why ???? if you have the place to put a 1/4 more robust resistor for a 7000$ Dll us equipment ....
And the result of this politic.... it is that far away , in this case in Mexico, a lorenz die for this faulty micro resistor which cost 20c of Dlls .......
For me the Lorenz X5 it is not a reliable detector for far country !!!!
          Alexis.

There is something like a club over here in Greece where the members use Lorenz detectors.
Well many years past and such a thing never reported yet.May be they will come up all together.
This X5 that I owe is the third pulse detector I bought from them and I think I know the facts better from anybody since I have myown experience.
            Regards

              Thank you for your answers.

Alexis, es posible que uno de estos aparatos salio con un defecto. Siempre pasa eso. Pero segun lo que he oido, el Lorenz es uno de los mejores detectores. Es cierto que el precio es un poco alto, pero... Alemania!

i dont care who says what about what machine.if it sounds too good to be true.it always is.if a machine could detect anything at 40 feet ? who would want to dig that depth ?

I think the dealers are exaggerating.

According the user manual the maximum depth for the largest test target (a 20 ltr fuel tank) is 380 cm when using the 1.5m square double frame. This is 12' 6", not the 40' claimed earlier.

Lol, you are right!!! However, I have heard stories (and seen on TV) where people used backhoe and bulldozers for treasures they "detected" at such depths! Of course, they found... nothing. One of them was in Greece, just a couple of weeks ago.

                          Hello
Use a soldering iron to remove the resin from the heater and a small amount for each time
                          This calls for patience
Note: The following circuit is smd
