  • 50Hz noise

    Hi

I have an EKG signal that I need to filter out 50Hz noise. I was thinking of a Twin T notch filter, could that work or is there any other notch filter that fits better?
How do I calculate the Q and then its components? And does a Twin t filter have an order and if so how do I find that?

I am new at this and just really need something to get me started.
Are there any formulas that any of you could show me?

Do a Web search on "twin t notch filter," there are lots of general electronics sites that thoroughly cover this topic.

The filtration of signals is a double-edged weapon. The filter which perfectly filters the pure sinusoidal signal has also her own answer on the impulse-stimulation. The incompetent use of the improper filter can bring more harms than the benefit. Always make allowance for the answer on the jump of the signal.
