I never have seen an acoustics detector that can see so deep in the ground....I think a heavy power is needed for the energy that is needed to go so deep ??
Best regards.
Ap
Thank you Aq.
Sorry for late answer but i had problem with internet.
About the depth.... maybe it is time to try
Hi Geo.
A bit different translator today.
1. Notice, that the method of USG ( the transducer) it loses on crossing through two zones about large difference of thickness signal very a lot of.
Reflection on border of zones the wave.
Sonar in water has only one zone!
In medicine on USG gel patient be greased - one zone!
2. was this if would gradiometr type MI (magnetoinductive), (eg. FMG3) this also hard from far to measure from internal core the inductive field of small coil, 50kHz, working with current 1mA .
Write what weight of one sensor ( very light / light / heavy)?
What weight of gun - this depends from the power supply.
The battery of type 6F22 - 9V will not permit on work with large current! Battery 12V (0,5 kg and heavier) GPR suggests.
The Sensor in figure of coil from the ferite core length 5cm and the VLF more suggests the method.
You have choice now - what were Your feelings?
Best regards.
Chris.
Hi Chris.
I don't know more but the owner said that ir was Sonar.
The outside sensor was inside a pipe. All together was about 100gr weight.
The weight of the gun (sonar) it is big, maybe ... 1,5 Kgr. Inside there is a 12V-4Ah leaded gel battery.
Maybe to try with a set of transduser that are used as car park systems.
In a the book from Parrick Gueulle METALLDETEKTOREN UND SCHATZSUCHEGERATE ISBN 3-440-05317-2 is some reading about using sonar for land "metal detecting". The book from 1984 is somewhat outdated.. but basic is ok. But... it is not a detector that can detect at great distance..... it is written in German. Think it is copyright protected... Carl doesn’t like it if we place it on his site ..

Hi Aq.
Can you send me via email the pages who writes about sonar???

((Bolt-clamped Langevin type transducers (BLT) are common vibration sources in high-power ultrasonic applications such as ultrasonic cleaning tanks, ultrasonic plastic welding, ground sonar transducer, Bio Diesel mixer transducer, Solid separation transducer, stop organism growth on boat hull, Biodiesel mixing transducer, High-Torque Traveling Wave Ultrasonic Motor ))
See the application that uses that sensors..... now there is a new box at work..
There is a lot power needed..... and not very mobile use is for Industrial cleaning.
