  • Toggle Switch Advice Please.

Hi, I am restoring a Fisher 1270 and someone has fitted the wrong Normal/Swap/Pinpoint toggle "trigger" switch.

    Its currently has a C&K 7203 (USA) On/Off/On 2A 250VAC 5A 120VAC Toggle.(6-pin)
(with a way to short lever).
It works ok with this but it so easy to overlook what position you have it set on.

I want to fit a standard type spring loaded one -3 way with a longer lever.
Anyone know where I can get one from. Chop (by the way I live in England)

Farnell have some here -> http://uk.farnell.com/jsp/search/bro...atchallpartial
If you put "on-off-mom" in the search field and select "toggle switches", you will get the same list as the link above. Most of them seem to have a short lever arm, so I guess you'll just have to look at the datasheets and select the best one.
    Good luck.

Thanks...but I checked them out and they only had short lever as did RS. (think I need mom/off/mom--one mom for swap, one for p point or maybe mom/on/mom.....unsure.

I just examined my Fisher 1266-XB and the switch is either mom-on-mom or mom-off-mom. Perhaps you could purchase a switch with a short arm and make some sort of extension. The switch arm on the Fisher is about 20mm long.

In the Fisher 1265-X service manual, the part is listed as "Switch, trigger" with part number 850451. Also, there was a hand-drawn diagram of the switch showing it to be an "on-off-on" type.

Looks like they made a bit error there then, listing it on-off-on (that would make it a standard toggle)

The diagram has been hand-drawn by someone. It is not part of the original service manual. Of course they should have written "mom-off-mom".
