  • goldmaster II strange tone

Hi, I am new to the forums, just got my GM II up and running.

Works great, however there are some rocks that cause the detector to emit a strange tone, almost like a POING, rather than the squeel or 2-stroke motorcycle sound. Is this just a hot rock, or does it have some gold in it? the rock is sedimentary and breaks into bits.

also, when I sweep over the rock, the POING is not instant, but sort of lags, and makes the sound after the coil has passed over the rock. thanks for any info.

Im working some hydraulic diggins in northern cali mountains.
