Surfmaster PI Longboard ground plate?

Any advantage adding a copper ground plate to the inside of my control box?
1" high by 2 1/2" long?

Or line the edges with copper foil tape?

It wouldn't hurt but what are you looking for?

You plan on taking it down 10 mS samples or less?

Just didn't know if one was needed or not or if there was any advantage to having one. This is my first detector build. I had another detector that actually had one attached to the end of the housing that was connected to the PCB and the coil connector was attached to it. That was a VLF machine.

Shielding of any kind is always good.

On this detector , I don't think it's Mandated.

If you do, connect it to Ground.
