  • MINER-3 (pulsdetektor.de) question

My question is did anyone on this forum tried to build, or have any experience whit this detector:

    http://www.pulsdetektor.de/projekte/miner3/miner3.html

Looks interesting, and very advanced, 2 MCU's, "discrimination" (not again...) etc. Also "mined" to discourage anyone to build it due to hard to obtain components, and maybe some other way, like many projects there. I'm about to get everything needed, and if this thing works, (software at first place) i want to redesign it using more common parts.

So question for anyone here: worth doing, or just another MCU based waste of time?

there is a forum for this project

a member has offerd me to programm the micro controller for me

if you ask there maybe you get an answer, the things i have heared sounds good if you do all right while setting the mcu
there a some values that have set correct

i think that some people from germany who have build it are here too

Thank you for response, everyone. I know for pulsdetector forum, but my German knowledge is not good enough (neither my English is, as you can see), going trhru numerous pages whit translator from German or Russian sites seems to be somewhat masohistic, this is why i'm asked question directly. This is anyway part of hobby and curiosity, so i will give a GO for this and going to try it. Can be interesting project on this forum if it works properely, after all. Best regards

          Miner MDs

Then "lower end" detectors seem to be complete as far as I can tell (I live in Germany and speak the language almost like a native!), but none are PIC controlled either...
          .
The high level Miner series seem to be missing the firmware, at least online, but that is their perogative......

There is also a disclaimer about possible instability as well......so the schematic may not be the latest either.....

I would not recommend to try and build any of their PIC/AVR/Micro processor units at this time.....buit I will keep an eye on developements.

          regards

          Andy

            hello fisherman

it is on my list too
also the detectors böses tier 1 und 2
but next step is to learn microController programming

by the way something around 46 cm in air for a 2€ coin sounds not bad or?

            maybe you can contact andy

            schönen abend noch

p.s. would be nice if everyone would set the location in his profile maybe we could be neighbours and dont know

              Hello,

I worked on these projects some years ago ... (2003).
My Motherboard I, DIGGER project was working fine but ... the more interesting part, the PIU, was never sold separately, as announced.

Later the DIGGER, became a commercial product offered around 1400€ !

Today, I would like to restart this project for two reasons :

              1) The mysterious PIU module is now divulgated in the Miner - 1,2,3,4 shematic, PCB and software (HEX only) are available.

              2) With some experience (hobby only) building more than 10 detectors, with +/- success, I'm sure that this german site, provide access to the most advanced technology for electronic enthousiast.

Have a close look at the schematic, there is a lot of excellent choosen solutions, result of years of hight level experimentation.

              Regards

I will be following this blog as it could be really worth while. Thanks for your time, knowledge and interest.
If I can help in some manner, please just ask me.
If anyone else has interest, it could be well worthwhile for many to "join in", please mention that here.
                Regards

                  Hello,

I have in the mind to redraw the Miner 1,2,3,4 PCB to replace the two or three specific and expensive DC-DC converters, with only one, home built, with three outputs based on UC384x.

All other components seems available at correct prices.

My (future) PCB, as original, should accomodate, any variation of the Miner, (accus & Lcds) and I would like also to improve ergonomy for using the equipment more easily on the field.

User manual translation German ==> English, is in progress ... but some technicals words are not accepted by automatic translator and difficult to understand.

                  Regards

                    Manual Translation German to English

I can translate that manual for you, just send me the original document and what you have achieved and I will do the rest. Can you post both here so that I can download them? Let me know if that is acceptable.

I have lived in Germany for 30 years and speak the language (almost!) like a native.
I do such technical translations all the time.....do it may take a week or so (how big is the manual, I haven't seen it yet?)

I may even be able to help out with the PCB layout provided we both work in Eagle.....its the only one I know a little about!! I have Vers.5.4.0 available.

Lets simply work together.....lets get a great detector documented, coded and built!
                    !TOGETHER!

                    Who wants to help?

                    regards

                    Andy

                      Hello,

Your help is welcome, because my scholar germain is very far now, and I never practice it.

I'm french, but I think that english translation open information to a wide public, and also menues of the instrument are in german OR english.

Working on the translation help to understand the details to adjust and use the instrument.

About Eagle, I agree totally, I use it from V2.5 (DOS) and have updated it periodically to V4.0.
I 'm still using this release, because my own libraries are not compatible with upper versions...

The only change for me, I have decided from a couple of years to stop putting my fingers in perchlo and ask (and pay) to others to do a more professional job for me !

                      Regards

                          Thanks in advance.

                          Andy

PS. This will be quite an international effort I feel!!
