  • I replaced the LM358N with the LM358P and (although they should be identical) the behavior of the metal detector has noticeably changed - the recorded decay of the signal has become much sharper, the sensitivity to small objects has increased, and the sensitivity to the Earth’s magnetic field has disappeared (you can wave the coil without worrying about its horizontalness) .
P.S. I also switched to using three lithium-ion batteries instead of ten batteries.

          • @BerntOne,,,,,I will re-draw it in Sprint Layout so it has has the BOM list if you want? I have plenty of time free,,, Can you check the drawing for me when I have finished please? Also, do you have a new revised list of the PCB's you were selling earlier this year please as I may be interested in a new project to build? It was a kind thought by you to donate the money from your surplus projects to your local school and Martial arts club for training equipment,,I have been a teacher of Wing Chun Gung Fu since since 1984 and I remember how hard it was to find the money for for training apparatus back then. I'll draw the 'Foxy' later today, Regards, Marty

                              • hy Marty i could do it, but i have no time these days, the school holdiay begins
so i can continue at midle of july

but i think it is a good training if you draw a bit wtih sprint layout
also remind to set a good practival hole diameter for the pins
ic sockets 2mm outer and 0,6 or 0,7 inner
for bigger ca 1000uF and more set 2,2mm / 1mm
                                1/4w - 0,6w resistor 1,8 /0,6mm
                                bigger resitors 2w (damping) 2/1mm
                                mosfet oval holes , etc...

if you have a wire bridge or sme tracks that cross another track just put it on copper top layer
same production costs at the end, no need for wire bridges

i am experienced in pcb ordering so if design is finished i can provide geotech user with pcb
1-3€ per unit plus shipping for example (alexey and marty without any charge)

my problem is just time besides my family
