  • By slowing the swing right down and sneaking up to a 6" rusty bolt that overloads the MD I can easy see 2 pound coin 2" away with a nice clean tone in disc mode.

    "Sounds good"

For the nails, Im struggling a bit now, maybe your Rx coil tune frequency could be quite close to your Tx and giving a big phase pull with ferrous?

If yours air tests really well it may be the case - If you suspect the Tx and Rx are almost co tuned try a 1nF in parallel with the existing cap (Assuming your Rx tank is below Tx to start with) to pull it down a bit this may quieten it a bit?

That ground sounds as though its has many variables in it - grass, soil, then stones may be a bridge too far. Uniform flat clean earth is the holy grail here. short dry grass is ok, wet grass and thick clay are horrible.

You will find wet grass a pain as the wet grass has a phase and the soil has a phase and you can only get rid of one.

In your case you would have 3 return signal phases, the grass, the soil, the stone.. plus the rusty nail

I would say the best time for using our kit has nearly passed for this year. A lot of the laser/tesoros dont do well on wet dewy lush meadow grass.

I think even the ML Exploder doesnt like water in behind the coil cover.

    • Thanks wasn't over worried about the nails just trying to understand whats happening. Grass was dryish but under the soil was very patchy and variable. Some very wet some bone dry your probably right too many signal phases.

Coil should be okay as its a stock 8"

Next job is to make a new DD and add the low battery warning (only 5 components). The first DD I made I don't like. Very deep nearly 40 cm but very unstable. Also too heavy. It likes dry sand though? targets almost deeper than you can dig out.

What version of the Classic did K315 in post 1799. How does the 3 way toggle work schematics look the similar.

      • "What version of the Classic did KT315 in post 1799. How does the 3 way toggle work schematics look the similar." answered my own question is a old classic iii that had the three PP3 batteries.

download the manual nothing special with the toggle switch.

Any reason the low battery warning has been dropped from latter models seem like a down grade

        • Dunno looks original whites drwg. The IDX is clever as its a tight cost reduced kit. There are no bells and whistles and everthing is cheap. This was a departure for whites, a lot of their kit had tight specialist filters with non standard resistors in 1% plus rafts of analog and digital HW. I guess the reason was cost. Some tech reasons may have been noise generated when the threshold for turning the lamp may have toggled fast and created noise. Or the lack of hyterisis may have made the lamp 1/2 bright until really low. Carl may be able to ask one of the older gents at whites why.. S

          • i need ask one question ?
can i change 7808 ragulator to 7818 so i just use double 9v+9v = 18v battery the ouput can get 12 v or not

            Comment

            • not certain what you ask//

To get regulated 18v requires 21v input minimum as 78xx regs can have a 2.5v dropout.

I have ran my IDX Tx on 18v - you need to cut pcb trace to feed 18 to Tx only. Require to use 8V reg for opamps etc as before.

If that is what u meant

I think yes the reg can tolerate 18V easily

2-how can i shielding them,by foil , or turn wire 0.2mm around two DD colis ??????????
                                the data for my coil:
                                0.7mm wire 33turn 620mkh and 1.5ohm
                                0.2mm 258turn 37.5mh and 97.5 ohm
