  • Hi dear friends
Content and files to IDX-Pro dispersed after 100 pages,For this reason, new users like me are confused and do not know which files use to build., Please if possible put all of the required files in a separate thread, As Baracuda PI or other project

      Koala,
      U1 P6 p2p = 6V.

Aah ! I think I figured out the Chattering Noise problem now.
If I touch or Vibrate the TX Cable or Connector - it starts Chattering like crazy while the Cable vibrates slightly.
The TX Cable has an extra foot or 2 length twisted around - plus the Connector to the Coil and Caps is a Dip plugin.
Will try fixing it by resoldering it.

Sound too high should be in the mV range. Also it will overload the detector which is why you are not getting a clean sound.

would give you poor depth. Nulling of the coil sounds too far out. Try and get it under 200 mV

Wish you luck. Shielding of the coil is the most difficult part to stop any chattering.

        • Well,
I clipped down the TX line , and resoldered it.
But I also find that the RX line twitching causes the same problem , with Chattering NOISE.

          -

Ok, clipped down and resoldered the extra RX Coil line ,
but its back to the same Chattering NOISE garbage again ...
          - sounds like Morse code ... horrible.

Chattering increases with adjusting Coils to better longer Range.
          6-inch Range - little Chattering ,
          12-inch Range - continuous Chattering
=> more Sensitivity yields lot More Chattering ...
GB, or Threshold - seem to have little or no help here.

add 800 k ohms between pin 7,6 in u4 will reduce chattering very good

            • and you can fine tune your coil with digital dmm or scope by small ferrite until get 0 volts

              • I tried the 800K across U4 p6 to p7 - had some effect - but still chirp every haslf second randomly.

Ok, but 0V across what ?

Ok, but 0V across what ?
ne5534 pin6 and ground volts in ac should below 0.2 or less is better

if the idx is not ground balanced it will give you chattering and false signal

tx cable should not move when you are searching

and if your coil is home made it should be mechanically stable

i found DD coil is better than cc coil in ground and scan ground better

dont forget to try put 800k or 600k between pin6 and pin7 in u4 comparator this reduce comparator sensitivity

and another note is to put 100nf between v+ and v- tracks that supply ne5534 to remove any noise

at last try test your idx in place where is no tv or electric noise

                      - TX line is at bottom of Image ,
while RX line is at center following Pole.
                      - No metal around Coils , Pole is Plastic , Joint is a Pencil as axle.
                      - RX line is a Shielded USB Cable.
                      - I can not Epoxy the Coils down - until I achieve a Tuned Coil.

How do I tune the TX Coil for U1 p6 = mv - if the TX is already tuned as 16V p2p and 6,3KHz ?

                      • I can answer your last question,,

You adjust the overlap of the coils.

With your long geometry coils (which are a diversion from the norm) you may find it difficult.

If I were you I would bend them round initially..

                              -

I stretched the Coils into Ovals.

But, I still get the Chirps or Chattering or Rattling or Metronome - no matter how I adjust the Coils.

Did you null the coils with a scope, or just re-form/shape them?
