pinpoint completely separated from discriminate mode

I did not mod the PCB but do adjust the threshold level for different situations. On the beach I turn it right down. Falsing is greatly reduced. On quite fields I turn it up slightly so its above a slight hum. Pinpoint still works but in disc mode there is a very slight increase in depth. Well its not really an increase in depth more the last bit of depth is a bit louder so less likely to miss. You can turn the threshold up even further and the detector will beep to a greater depth but the last inch or so it gives a dirty sound like iron so less real depth unless you are digging all targets (ferrous and non ferrous)

Try to play with TX - RX capacitor combinations, also check phase. Pin 6 on U1 is for nulling coil, get less than 100mv on that pin.
Probaj da se igras sa kondenzatorima na Tx i Rx, i proveri fazu. Pin 6 na U1 je za nulovanje sonde, probaj da dobijes manje od 100 mv.

          • I set U1 pin 6 to 80 m and is a good tomato, 1 per 40cm, discrimination is good or VDI displayed euro to 20 cm, and still does not, when uključim RAW VIW: ON in this case, up to 40 cm or goes to -135, -148 and so a show and mineral stones +8. I do not know what the problem is. I tried to connect 2 tons and in that mode occurs as a mineral or iron is far less range. I do not have to set the parameters of the points but I see most here in the forum have a problem with IDX. VDI.

I replaced LM393 in VDI and discrimination is now working well you know why I say ferrite rod that can not totally eliminesem.

Nothing as far as I know.

Same with my Tesoro also. In air tests

well done on sorting it out

Don't go too close to the coil with the ferrite 2" is enough. If you are running out of adjustment its normally the coil at fault.

Hi onuba ..... please tell me what are the characteristics coil: diameter DD, number of turns TX - RX and wire diameter you use.

                        Regards

Coil info is on page 1 of this thread. Dimensions for the DD is the same as the TGSL101 PDF.

                            • Hello Ladies and Gentlemen

I'm about to begin the coil building process for my Idx Pro pcbs from Silverdog.
I've read all the threads regarding the Idx, but have a question anyway.
Is it possible to build a dd tx coil with 0.5 wire instead of 0.7 ? The resistive value will be higher on the 0.5 than with the 0.7.
Or do I just buy some 0.7 ?

                              Best regards
                              Dennis

Edit : had to put in that it was for the tx part of the coil

.5 mm is close enough for the TX as long as the Inductance is right it will be fine
