  • Hello, your shield can't touch each other! Put some isolation tape on the other end! I hope this helps.

    Comment

    • Wrap the aluminium foils with isolation tape all around tightly so they dont connect with each other so there is no loop in your shielding.

      • Hello Nandor, Thank for reply, i have been isolate shield rigth now, and still same result, can't null coil, still 2Vpp at pin 6, before shield 56mV pp

        • Sorry to hear that, something is wrong with the shielding. Check the continuity of the alufoil it should have a very low resistance. I don't now whats the problem maybe connection problem, your shields are not connected properly.

          • Wahyu, do u have gap on shield? If u don't leave gap, this will ruin sensitivity complete, like short connection.

            • Check the conductivity of the shield from one end to the other.
Check the resistance of both coils, maybe something broke inside.

Maybe you have swapped the coils? RX <>TX

                Nice project IDX-PRO

I have been built this MD, before i shield Coil TX and RX, result is good,
Coin nickle can detect upto 25cm clear sound, nulling at pin 6 56mV peak-to-peak, TX 17V peak to peak, i use Hantek USB Scope 20Mhz
i have some problem, after my coil shield whit alumunium foil, problem is i can't nulling coil, at pin 6 2V peak to peak, and poor detect

                How to solve this problem?
                Thank

                Wahyu.

i try to recheck again, i appreciate for this information,

                  Thank,

                  • I think you dont need to make another gap in the shield. One at each coil is enough.

Is there a smd partslist for the serbian board? If not i want to make one.
Which smd sizes are the parts? And whats the equivalent transistor for the MPSA13 Transistor.
I think for the other ones i need to use BC807,BC817, and BC858?

                    • The two coils, need to have insulation, between each coil, where they overlap.
They also need a gap in the shield, I leave others here to tell you just how wide the gap should be, but at a guess, between 1 to 2 cm.
I make the coil, binding over with tooth floss to keep it together.
I then cover the coil with insulating tape.
Then I lay a piece of copper wire on the coil, before covering (leaving the gap!) with the strips of foil, overlapping them well, then covering with a further layer insulating tape to compress the foil onto the copper wire, which is my shield connection.
That is very simply put and some of the other experts here can tell you far better than I can. Maybe some even better ideas.

                      Best of luck
                      Andy
