  • Hi
Eclipse Rx coil has lower inductance 15mH not 35mH like Blue max 950 the TX should be the same around ~580uH. IDX would work with it but not as good with original 35mH. Try to adjust the RX caps only till you have 4.6 kHz using a scope.

    • Then I can increase the TX to 12.5 khz to be more sensitive to small objects?
      and with RX what happens?
      thanks for your help.
I still did not get the coil from ebay and I'm building the PCB
when I have it done tests on the oscilloscope ...

yes you could retune the circuit to 14khz, whites MXT coils are 14khz and 15khz.
but as koala said I don't know what would be gained, 99% of coils whites make for the idx etc, are available for the mxt and spectrums etc, unless you are hoping the higher frequency will be better for gold, or possibly just because on the continent the seem to prefer detectors with a higher kHz.

        • You have to have a difference of almost 2 kHz between the TX and RX for example original is: Tx 6.59kHz and Rx 4.68kHz, with new Tx 12.5khz -> Rx10.59kHz it should work.
The difference is needed for the correct phase shift for the Geb and Disc circuits to work properly for DD coil it is 20 degrees and for CC it's 200 degrees I think but that should be visible on the scope. For higher frequency you have to decreese the Tx and Rx tuning capacitors like Tx 1uF->470nf~ and Rx 33nF->15nF~.
You have to experiment, good luck!

          • Thank you !! I had many doubts about the TX and RX frequencies.
Now I'm going to do tests when I have it ... regards

This is to use an oscilloscope to measure the signal
              My VDI is wrong
I found that the signal is different from the program
              The program is written to

              if (sensorValuex > 5 )

My signal is that the small one is not big.
Excuse me, there's a problem there.

Tried several different coils with it!
Best performed coil was exactly this one - 10.5" Quciksilver for CZ series...
                  ...
Air depths on test were over 160cm !!!! Tough to believe.. but true!
                  Coins at 50, 60 ..65cm in air!
Also great depths in real soil!
I visited many terrains with such setup. Lot of deep (and i mean DEEEP) finds with it!
But... there is one lack; not so immune on hotrocks!
So.. it is usable and lunatic deep on medium soils, also not bad on middle mineralized soils..
But it is very unstable on soils with hotrocks..
Besides that, Disc is very descent, GB also..
Recovery speed..descent. Not so good at masking.. but also not so bad too.
                  ..
So , considering all this, i am sure this coil will present pretty good choice for IDX-PRO+VDI project here.

I am making the IDX pro and I found a 10.5" Quciksilver used , what do you suggest I do to make it work ? which caps and values ?

                  • A good idea is to use coil generator circuit to determine coil resonance, then you can work out new cap values for IDX. But I suspect That he was saying that it compatible coil as is? Not sure.

                    • I had the same setup.. I think 33nf tx and 3.3nf rx by memory

                      • But it threw the vdi way out was never really happy with the setup let me know how you go I may have a relook my self

                        • In my IDX with 10.5 cz6 coil i use:
                          tx 330nf
                          rx 15 nf
                          F 8.8 KHz 17vp/p
1€ coin at 38-40 cm in air in disc mode with Fe discriminated.

                            • Look here for cz coil inductances, then you can work out cap. Values
