  • very nice too:-) and very good results. I do not understand why my idx gives not so good results. a Euro only detect up to about 25cm in the air.
have the board soldered precisely and accurately ....
    what is your secret?
ropcsika, can you tell me, which components you have used? ic's specifically, R24-26 and what poti for P5?

        Concentric coil data:

        - tx winding diameter 240mm ! tx 0.72mm, -29 winding 1,6 ohm, 0,523 mH
        - rx winding diameter 120mm! rx 0.2mm,- 370 winding 80,2 ohm, 35,2 mH
        Data for the concentric
        - feedback loop , diameter 113mm ,10-12 winding 0,6 ohm, 0,019 mH
        wire 0.72mm .

        • thanks ropcsika, also have a board of silverdog. and the same components installed .....
and an original coil....:-( then I have to go expirimentieren further to get to better results.

          regards

Nulling the search coil is important. I measured the value between the u1 ic's 3rd pin and the gnd. Value: ac 0,0-0,4 mV. Good result.

            regards

            • thanks ropcsika....my values are all ok. to pin 3 of u1 I measure 0.2 mv. is an original coil.
r25 set to 700 ohm ..... and no change!? but whatever. I'm testing on. what I have noticed that my pp does not work properly. the all-metal.mode I must move the euro too.
can someone tell me how I do the pp? from the manual, I'm not really smart.

              regards

                • PP

Some people mention that although the PP works on IDX even with a DD - they have to move their machine a bit to get a PP fix.

This is because the PP CH is not DC coupled right through - it has a 1uF cap in seris with it.

So in order to get a signal thru the cap you have to generate one my giving the machine a rock about.

To make a true non motion PP which reponds to phase rather than frequency you need to short C16 out during PP mode.

I use a DPDT switch - one to turn into PP mode rather than the push button in the kit and the other switch to wire out the cap.

Another option is to put massive cap in like 100uF that can pass small phase changes more easily.

                  Nice

                          • Why you join two of the C16 feet at the time of the usage of the pinpoint? He functions properly without this at me.

Some people say thier IDX PP needs a small sweep to help PP.

To make the PP a true non motion PP C16 needs to a) have a very large value or b) wire it out - short it out with a switch.

I used a DPST one for shorting the cap out, and one replacing the push button.

It gives you ability for very accurate PP without having to rock the head about.

If your happy with your PP as it is - then do not attempt this mod ..
