  • Is it possible to change the circuit technology for idx Pro to the idx Pro TURBO.
The Turbo Version should have a modified circuit for deeper search performance....

    • You could make a bigger coil instead

      • Is the coil the difference between these two models ?
I want to use the BlackMax950 Pro Coil

        • No, it's just that coil size makes a bigger difference.

          • ok thanks!

do you believe that the Blackmax 950 Pro is a good choice for the IDX Pro ?

            • I have no idea. What are the specs?

Blackmax 950 is good for the IDX Pro.

                • There you have it

Once you have a working detector with a working coil, just make your own coil for the fun of it. All you need to worry about are the coil inductances and resistances, and if you can produce them within 50% margin of error - you are singing.

                    • Hi,

i have ordered a Whites Blackamx 950 "PRO" from a German Reseller. Today i got it, but it it looks like a other Whites Coil, not like a Blackmax 950.
The Part Number on Coil doesnt fits with the P/N Number on the Whites Website.
So is this coil really a Blackmax 950 Coil ??? i can´t belive it
                      many thanks

                      • Hi all. Im here some time ago trying make idx on the background trying not ask however i have a problem when try to program the pic with the .hex

I use LVP low voltage programig with ICprog at 16F88. When i load code the fuse LVP not marked, when i program PIC with VDI.hex code all ok however the checksum of the pic configuration change because i use LVP.

Im noob. My vdi circuits its ok, my pic have the right code (only i programed using LPV). When i start DVI i only see x16 full black blocks nothing more. i see it if the pics is on the board like the pic is not.

Where could be problem ? maybe if i use LVP* code dont work on pic?

Thank you to much all for make possible this project.

                        Greetings.

                        • perhaps because of the contrast of the display? rotary trimmer on something ....

                              • RB3 in VDI schematichs is for SW1. I thonk i could run pic on display with SW1 unfuntional. However 1 line x16 black blocks.

The reason I use LVP is only that i havent at this moment other metod. I found this one :

http://home.vrweb.de/~lotharstolz/st...vpc/index.html Very easy way to programing a pic (on LVP)

I compare codes, VDI.hex and onPic on ICProg buffers are same , however config word is diferent: Vdi.hex 3F10h when i programing on LVP this change to 3F90h.

I know on LVP not work SW1 however I thonk it can run. Probably the new config word different original make the pic dont start.

ok i will try next week some site to program my pic on normal mode high volt.

                                Many thanks
