        * A homebuilt IDX or did you buy a manufactured one?
        *Mono or stereo headset?
*Does your headset include mono or stereo switch?
If you have a mono headset, then the answer is more obvious - but some speakers are polarity sensitive.
If using a stereo headset there are 3 rings you will see on the end of the cord. The ring closest to the cord is typically common ground (which goes to the grounded end of where the speaker is usually connected). The other two rings can be wired together and that will go to the "hot" end of where the speaker is connected. It is best to put a 200 - 300 OHM resistor in series with this to limit volume and protect your ears.

        Does this answer your question?

        • This is my detector, but I have a problem setting the GB. Key PP raboti.Pri me how when you turn the detector is silent, and when I move tresh sound constant sound and no reaction to metal.

          • Yes, it does. Home build idx, stereo headset, there is no stereo switch on my headset, many thanks.

The inductance of the coils TX and RX? You have used a different diameter wire. I use wire of 0.20 and 0.60. My inductances are: 34mH for RX and 0,580mH for TX. You have to get these inductances. My capacitor for RX is 36nF, and TX capacitor is 1,22uF.

                      • Well, what function key PP plays. Upon my only constant sound and no reaction of metal.

Remove ferrite! Tx 0.558 MH, RH 35mh

                            Both of them have.

Some ferrite is hard to reject - especially in a ring shape. Try short piece of rod from AM radio.

GEB is for 'tuning out the returns from the soil. - without this set it will false.

PP is pin pointer, this mode is close to non motion, it uses a Rx channel with a zero IF. For getting location fix on target prior to dig.

                              I think popular is 5534

                              • Hi
I am interested for this nice project specially about VDI section. Many thanks.
However I have a big problem about PIC micro controller 16F88 or 16F690. Unfortunately in my country, not any of these chips could be found!
Can you suggest me any solution? I think VDI may be reprogrammed with ATMEGA chips that are very common, or at least for another common PIC micro.
                                Thanks
