    IDX_Pro concentric coil nulling method:

Connect the ac voltmeter in idx-pro pcb between the u1 ic 3 pin and gnd
switch the voltmeter at range ac 200mV
move slowly the feedback or bucking coil
Usually when gain 0.04 on meter LCD display of (at range AC ~ 200mV) i know that coils are
    balanced optimal.

        • Guys, if you are tiered like me to solder and desolder capacitors, when you tune up the coil you can try my invention :

            • i have just finished my silverdog idx and it appares that is not working properly .
I have tested it with an old wights coil and i cannot detect anything except a car battery and thats only in pp mode and what happens is the beeping will slow/stop when the coil is passed over the battery.
and in normal mode i cannot detect any thing.
could this just be just a completely incorrect coil?
could someone please point me it the right direction for testing.
              thank you.

Have you checked for short as per post 1350. It's quick to check placment of resistors with a multi meter againt the layout on silverdogs site. Only R49 and R50 measure wrong as they are in parallel and measure roughly half only take a few minutes to check.

i have checked the resistors and there ok.
the short in post 1350 has been dealt with.
i am using a 8ohm speaker would that affect it should i be suing a pezo??

8 ohm speaker will work fine. Which coil are you using I have tried the old 6000d white coil and Classic I sl black coil both 8" both work fine except for ground balance. Can you adjust the threshold correctly. If you are using board connector disconnect the coil and measure ohms across the TX and RX . TX approximately 7 ohms RX approximately 34 ohms

Well I must say that makes a change Ropcsika, you seem to have that one well rapped up, Wouldn't it be nice if all coils were that easy to produce.....
Good lad you should be proud of yourself.

                          • the coil ohms are tx 6.6 and rx 39
i cannot tell the exact modal of the coil as i got it from a market its 11 inch with wights sticker on it
threshold has a noticeable change in pp mode.

Is there not a number stamped on the left lug of the coil
Do you have a scope to test the TX and RX are working correctly
Just re read your original post you say beeping in PP do you mean buzzing.

                              • there is 97386 on the sticker.
                                no i don't have a scope unfortunately.
and i guess you could say buzzing yea.
                                thanks
