  • Well That's the problem. This board has been attached a few times but never the other side
or files. So a bit of work to redraw it...

    • since lots of people have asked for the reverse of that board, and it has never been posted, it may be easier to blow up pics of the top side, then do the same with the top and bottom of the thru hole idx board, you could extrapolate the reverse of the smt idx board that way.
its a lot of work, but probably quicker and easier than getting the original posted.

      • Well the other question I have, that hasn't seemed to be answered yet either is,
what are the dimensions of SilverDog's PCB? I have a detector that I want to upgrade
so the new board has to be a bit small to fit in the current housing.

That SMT one would be nice but too much work to redraw...

        • Hello Everyone.

I was just wondering if this IDX-Pro has better depth than the Old Whites Eagle SL .

And also did anyone post any Depth tests here yet , with different metals using a standard search coil. Thank-You

          Best Regards.................Eugene

          • I would estimate 6.5" on favourable ground to a 1/2" silver coin
Deus would be about 7.5 on same

Can't answer your question as I don't have access to the Eagle but using the same coil in a homemade IDX against an original Classic III and Classic I the homemade preforms the best by quite a margin. This could be mainly due to being more adjustable to get the best out of the detector. Can't remember the exact figures but it was over an inch on all target types.

              • The layout files show about 70mm by 80mm about 3" x 3" that's pretty small!

                Can anyone confirm those dimensions?

                  • No don't unbox it. I just wanted to make sure it will fit in my box.

                      • Thanks golfnut I think I might be able to squeeze it in. I'll send off my order to SilverDog today.
He finally has some in stock!

                        • I have an Off-The-Wall-Question ...
I have been reading and doing the Metal Detector 'Air Tests' ...

I have seen this AirTest done on YouTube - with the person HOLDING the Coin/Targets !?
But this creates a Capacitor or antenna back to the Box !
If you remove your Hand - and say dangle the Coin by string or place the Coin on the floor,
this reduces the Range by HALF or MORE
                          Has anybody realized this ?

I have seen and tried many Metal Detector circuits - that brag about 5-inches or more Range with Air Tests,
that work like this if you HOLD the Coin,
                          - but only work 1-inch or less - while dangling the Coin by string or otherwise without touching the coin.

Maybe we should call it the HAND-TEST instead of the Air-Test ??

Yes your hand makes a difference but not that much ?

I had worked on a job project - about 10 years ago for Capacitance Sensors.
You would step on the one Pad with your shoe,
while using your hand with a Screen Touch Sensor (other Pad),
and You being the Capacitor, ...
                              - it Worked Great - had about a 2-foot Range from the Screen !

I even wrote one of the Patents for it ...

                              • I use a wooden stick with the target on it. Holding the same target in my hand
appears to give the same reading. Though sometimes it appears I get more depth
when the target goes next to the coil wire that hangs down next to the coil.
