    • I use microphone cable. It's what they use on the md4u site. Makes sense good quality strong and flexible. Have used USB2 and the quality is very variable

How did you shield you coil. I have had no success with a space blanket tried many times always unstable over the ground.

factory coil is always 100% stable. I have gone over to using a flat card covered in a graphite yacht varnish mix. Need to glue my latest together but looks promising.

      • It may not be your USB 2.0 cable. I built mine using Belden 8723 cable and sometimes I need to run mine at reduced settings. I don't run into that problem using the L324s but if I substitute LF347Ns it turns it into a wild machine.

Here is a video clip testing my IDX with a hand built concentric. I have .5" lead balls buried in my test garden, getting deeper by 1" increments.

I have found the the IDX kit sold by Silverdog can detect as deep as any detector I have ever bought if it's set up right.

              • LM324 will make a tame detector. LF347N makes it very sensitive. It can make it unstable with increase sensitivity settings though.

                  • Yes, the LM324 makes my two builds work more like a Classic I. I'm not sure who suggested the LF347Ns but that made all the difference.

I built mine using a graphite spray coating inside my shells. It works perfect!

I make CC but i cant make shield.in my country dont have that graphite spray.
I try use varnish and graphite powder but i dont have any success. The coil become alive over ground.i get about 300 to 400 ohms all around coil.
Is is possible use foil on CC??

                              • Not happy now. I get 100 ohms on one half of the shield and 500 on the other. Made two tap points to test the cut one off. Hope my shield is going to be okay ???

Need to sort some space out so I can set the null point I have metal everywhere in the house.
