Its a pre decimal penny that's badly corroded 10" down with a bit of grass on top of that. (about half its original thickness) a bit of iron about 12" away
Both the Bandido with 5.75" coil and IDX with "10 will pick it up quite easy. However with the IDX set with the same discrimination as the Bandido it only gives a slight crack that would not be a dig signal.
If I was to start again I might chose to build the Eldorado. Just been asked to find a horseshoe. The bandido does not go to 0 discrimination. Not a big problem as the all metal mode is great especially the no motion
Well, nice mini review. I guess the pcb is correct. Do u have Minelab addon board attached to Bandido or stock version oscilator?

Stock plus home made concentric. Works perfect except a bit touchy on ground balance. Get it wrong and you loose 50% depth on large silver
Run my IDX for over a year. Not a great difference between them. Quite fields the IDX might just have the edge. Turn the discrimination down to zero. Dig all faint signals and thumb up the discrimination on larger signals. Too much discrimination and small silver coins on there edge are almost undetectable
Prefer the audio on the Tesoro. Could just be me can't really quantify it but somehow appears shaper over things like coins.
Bandido looses less depth if enough discrimination is used to eliminate those square forged nails. No motion all metal mode is really useful. Size and shape of target plus iron has a long slow rise and fall to a target and non ferrous much shaper edge to the sound.
Both good. If you look over at the MD4U forum you will see the Eldorado is well developed.
As an example I had an iffy deep signal with my IDX someone with a Dues and 9" coil checked it. Also gave an iffy signal.
Whay mi idx still beeping and no effect in tunnig if l say there is no bad value and good soldering does bad coil couse this making it still beeping ..thanks for help
Hi all,
I would like to build this one cos most of members says its better and easyer than tgsl, could someone attach all build reference, pcb bottom print, pcb placement, size, part list, coil winding spec, etc?
I already read most of the pages and collect the references but im afraid i pick the wrong source and create a fail.

I dont think so... Coil is much harder to make than TGSL, pcb is easy.
Here is my files about IDX, u have there correct and latest lay file, coil specs, vdi , etc... good luck.
someone could send me a pcb finished with all the corrections made in idx?
Look's like nobody read the theme. Everything what u need i posted on this page, it's not that hard to find i think... How u will make metal detector if u read nothing and lazy to search...
