So if you recommend that mod i will do it and try to change R24 but now i have to fill coil with epoxy What is the properly value of nulling? I have to to get it as low as is possible?
Yes if u dont have scope.
When you fil coil with epoxy, make that in several layers.
Question for Eduardo1979:
What you do to eliminate iron tone for brick's and soil? When i get down coil to search, i got constantly low iron tone.
Tried to remove U6 and nothing, U7 and nothing, also deleted R55 and still got low tone for soil...
On the single tone mod, machine working perfect with XLT 950 coil.
Here is my connection:

You must adjust the ground balance continuously, so that the ground does not respond with a low tone or high tone. You must seek the perfect balance. I in my IDX, I had to increase the value of the ground balance potentiometer to 50K, and the best option would be to set a multiturn potentiometer for a more precise adjustment.
In the past I did 2 multi-tone modes for IDX. I do not remember exactly whether it is this way, or the previous mod. But I know that in one of the mods, I had to solve the problem by adding a 50K multiturn potentiometer.
You should check.

Forgot to say, my pot is 100K and multiturn. Well, also noticed that bigger coins giving a creek sound when i move near surface of the coil, but no problem after 3 cm distance, sound is clear and sharp.
Anyway, thx Eduardo.

Hello, I have another problem, this time with VDI. Everything works but the VDI depth is very poor. 16mm coin in air test has signal at 10-11'' inches but vdi indicate only at the 2'' inches to the coil? VDI is based on the PIC 16F88. Any ideas, how to solve that? Thx.

Well, that's the pain of almost all VDI's, showing numbers on half detection distance.
You can't do much about that dude. Or try with Arduino VDI, i got about 75% detection.

I will accept 50% but I have only 20% VDI detection of air test distance...
Edit: @CDI: Arduino VDI you use with opamp or XY is directly connected to arduino?
Ok, I have 4-5 inches vdi distance for the coins - now it's normal? How to set the treshold and speed in vdi menu to get the best result?

Nope, just directly wired to to pin 1 and 14 on LF347 without opamps, as Don described in his thread.
Don't forget to use separate battery for Arduino.
