    RX = 35.6 mH, wire 0.18 - 0.20
    TX = 0.58 mH, wire 0.50 - 0.70

      I think it is earlier in the thread.

      However, it has occurred to me, that one might be able to use a standard 3d printer, with a slightly larger nozzle, run both a thin wire through it and wind any shape coil you want, while encapulating it in molten plastic. That is, you are extruding the plastic and feeding a wire with it, effectively insulating the wire and encapsulating it at the same time. One might have to run the feed slower, and hotter to compensate for the heating of the copper, and it would not solidify as fast, but it would be interesting to try it. It might give the ability to try many other geometries of coils....

      • CLEVER!!!

        I would love to hear from anyone who tries it!

        This also might make it possible for coplanar coils? What say you all?

        regards

                  • hi , i have just finished my idx but it's not work properly,it just beeping in pinpoint mode without sensing any metal.
                    and only GB pot change a little this beeping.it has low ac voltage on tx connections
                    please help what should i do?

                    this is my idx photo:

                    • i solved my problem by using 39 instead of 39k hahaaha,, (stupid mistake!)....
                      now it works but Tx has 4.5v~ and detecting depth is low, should i check or change anywhere???

                        How are you measuring the peak to peak. My fluke will measure very low where as fine on a oscilloscope

                          Tx must 8-9 be volt's, depending on which voltage stabilizer you are using.
                          Try to change one by one IC. Next thing you can try is to change frequency.
                          Use 330N for Tx and 8-10N for Rx stage.
                          Also, R32 can be little raised, instead of 220K try to put 370 - 470K for slower reactivity, this will give you more depth.
                          All this can't help if coil is not nulled optimal.
                          Regards

                          • i measure Tx voltage with multimeter, turn it to rage of 20v~ and attach red probe to tx connection(when tx coil is on) and other probe to gnd ... unfortunately i dont have oscilloscope...

                                Probably fine on the Tx
