          Arado

Dear Tragac, better sell this old detector to a collector. Even if it works right now it might break any time because some electronic parts get bad if they are 30 years old.
It seems it has only sensitivity and disc. Just switch it on until you hear a hum. This is your threshold tone. Listen to the change of the sound when you put some metal near the coil. Experiment with the disk knob to make the detector ignore a nail.

Metal detecting needs a lot of patience and is fun if your detector works well and you know how to use it. IMHO better use your precious time to study the V3I manual and try to get a feel for this very versatile detector.

          Greetings
          Ganesh

I have moved this thread from The Remote Sensing Forum to here.

            Crikey!
That's something I don't have to do very often! It's usually the way around.

Arado is quite alright for locating medium and large sized metal objects in soil.
It is nonmotion, skilled operator can pull out nice performances from it.
