i need fast accurate reading while scanning underneath . (imaginary devise)

Your cache of 1kg of coins will be undetectable at 4m.
I suggest you read this entire thread (9 pages) -> http://www.geotech1.com/forums/showt...ighlight=cache

        Just to illustrate:
yesterday i had pretty illustrative example, went out with few friends on terrain, looking and searching for medieval coins. And what happened?
There was a situation that on one spot were 9 silver coins together, medieval coins, 2cm diameter each one, depth.... some 25cm in soil. Soil was medium mineralized.
So several pretty decent machines went over that spot, none of them detected nothing! Zero!
Than a friend with XP Gold Max Power lowered 22.5cm coil closest possible to soil at that very spot. XP than gave some mum and pretty weak detection signal...!
So we all gathered to see what's in soil at that spot. We dug and finally discovered those 9 coins...
So... what else to say? SHAME! Disgrace!
Most of modern machines would not give a slightest response at such and similar situation!
What to expect than on higher depths?
We do make detectors here, we do compare performances, we do shot various videos to prove something... we think we can achieve something...
Yet, after all .... "slim" success!
Because workbench and testing bed is one thing - real conditions are quite another thing!
You may use latest detector , latest technology... latest whatever... yet there are places, sites and situations (usually full with various valuable and precious finds) and we can do so few things there!
Nothing is good enough at such situations. (Not even a magnificent XP GMP, because it also couldn't detect those coins with coil just 5cm over soil surface.....! Friend had to push coil hard to soil surface to get some poor response..!)
So, no way that anybody can detect just few kg's of any kind of metal in pieces like coins at more depths than just 40-60cm in real soil.
However, there are slight chances to yet detect such coins at such depth (60cm) - ONLY in some very rare conditions, meaning; soil to be extreme "tame" and "clean" with proper moisture percentage.
But if we perform series of testings on various random soils (not previously chosen and prepared) and in various real conditions - than success rate would be some 20-30% in all cases...poor!
Carl did proposed indeed very educational and soberly (to sober up once for all) test!
There is topic about that somewhere on these forums...

So, to cut the story, simple answer would be:
          NO WAY!
          Pity....

Get a backhoe and dig up area

500 square meters is about 23 meter square. If you know area real well, hire a backhoe or bulldozer and dig it out.
