If I would take a guess, I would say Saturation Voltage. No idea what it would be used for.

With the Dfx SAT means self adjusting threshold , so maybe V stands for variable which would adjust the SAT speed

I know this thread is a bit dated, but it is also useful. I too was searching for the meaning when I stumbled across this thread.
