    Hi there,

I've saw a pocket digital oscilloscope and wonder if it could be used IE, for adjusting damping resistor

    this is the unit.....

    Thanks in advance.

You can use it for adjusting PI damping resistor.

Otherwise it is only one channel scope with very low quality command buttons (have one) so not easy to control signals.

But is very small and you can use it on terrain.

Pretty cool, small and cheap enough to include it on a PI for a great-looking homebrew detector and real time interpretation of the target ID & signature ...

Also open source so maybe someone with programming skills could modify the code to show and adjust automatically for the interesting part of the curve ...

Solmer, no need to adjust damping resistor in the field. Simply set it in home at air test and forget it. At such adjustment, the worst for damping ground (salty beach) makes only a slight overdamping.

There are many interesting experiments you can done in field, not only adjust damping resistor. You can even use PI front-end only and observe different target signal changes direct on scope without use other MD stages. So pocket scope + front-end can act as a whole PI MD. Pocket scope are ideal for those experiments.

              Thanks for the inputs

              Hi there,

Thanks for the inputs. Field test could be nice but I only need to adjust damping resistor so I think this device could fit my needs.
