Chance PI LCD problem

Hi, I've updated the Chance PI unit with the latest firmware to get the new Guard Interval function but when I try to turn it on I only get two lines of squares in the LCD. I've checked the contrast pot. and verified that the ATMEGA it's properly porgrammed (after erasing the chip I've write the new software using the correct fuses confg. and I can read the code inside....) Units seems to be working 'cause I can push the volume button and change it...

Any ideas?.

It seems that everything is fine whit MCU, working, so only two solutions remain, both requiring display change (considering no broken wires etc.)

Most probable source of problem is damaged display (actually display controller chip) due to accidental contact of some control pin to 12V (or may be static or something...)This happened to me, producing exactly the same symptom.

Another possibility, i cannot confirm or deny it (because i don't have older version now) is that something in software is changed (timing etc) in display communication routine. You may try to revert to some older version and see if display works, this is usually not common problem, maybe just that particular type and model you use have some "compatibility" issue, anyway, changing the display is most probable outcome.

Hi Tepco !

Problem solved, it was an error numbering the wires from the connector. Now I can see the characters. I swapped the pin 1 by 16, after changinf them everything is working properly.
